Visual Effects Portfolio Review on 28 August 2014

Portfolio Reviewed by Skeel Lee

Skeel is a Technical Director / R&D Programmer in the visual effects industry, with experience working on FX, lighting and pipeline on feature films. He has worked on films such as X-Men: Days of Future Past, Pacific Rim, Captain America: The First Avenger, Iron Man 2 and Sherlock Holmes, amongst others.

He was most recently Senior FX Technical Director at Moving Picture Company (MPC) in Montreal. Before that, he was FX Technical Director at Lucasfilm / Industrial Light & Magic (ILM) in Singapore, and Technical Director / R&D Programmer at Double Negative in London and Singapore.

He graduated from a technical education which involved computer graphics and real-time games programming. Outside of work, he has done a variety of FX simulation programming, including an open-source real-time WebGL fluid simulator and a soft body programming tutorial which won several international awards.

Aaron Lim is the art director of Zealot Singapore and an adjunct lecturer in NYP. He has been a Lead 3D Environment Game Artist for 8 years in Zealot Digital Taiwan and then in their Singapore office. Before that, he was working in Koei in Japan for 2 years.

On Tuesday, our VFX lecturer - Denny Iskandar has organised a field trip for our VFX students. This is our students first visit to a Sound Stage with full green screen facility. It was indeed an exciting experience for all of them. We would like to thank the students for being so supportive throughout the shooting! We can't wait to see the final result :). New Course Advisor : Roger Lee, Walt Disney Animation Studios

 We are very honoured to have Roger Lee to be part of our industry advisory panel. Roger Lee is currently a Lighting & Compositing Artist at Walt Disney Animation Studios. He had worked on some of Disney's biggest box-office hits such as Frozen and Wreck-It Ralph. Before moving to the US, he held a position such as Senior Lighting Technical Director on Rango (2010 Oscar Award Winning for Best Animated Feature) at Industrial Light & Magic, Singapore and Lead Lighting & Compositing Artist on the Emmy Award winning animated TV series - Star Wars: The Clone Wars at Lucasfilm Animation, Singapore. Prior to working at Lucasfilm, Singapore for more than 6 years, he was a CG Generalist at Walt Disney Television, Singapore and had worked on various award-winning TV commercialist at Infinate Frameworks for almost 5 years. Roger is a Film Sound and Video Alumnus from Ngee Ann Polytechnic.

CG Protege Students won the top prize at the Scinemation 2013

Congratulations to our CG Protege Students for winning the top prize in the open category at the Scinemation 2013 organised by the Singapore Science Centre. 
Though they are 3D Modelers by training, they certainly display great talent and potential in stop motion animation. Well done guys!
