JUNE-intake

Our panel of advisors is comprised of Singaporeans who have spread their wings abroad to internationally renowned studios in their respective CG fields. As fellow Singaporeans, they can relate to the issues that many aspiring CG artists in Singapore face in their journey towards learning and improving their skills. They share their knowledge and experience, providing information on the latest trends and innovations in their fields. This helps us to continually enhance and update our programmes to meet the changing needs of the global CG industry.

 

Melvin Tan

Melvin is a graduate of the Academy of Art University at San Franciso and is currently working as the Lead Animator at BlueSky Studios, the animation studio behind the blockbuster Ice Age. He has been appointed Character Lead for some characters in Horton Hears A Who and the ongoing production Ice Age 3. His film credits also include Ice Age: The Meltdown, Robots and No Time for Nuts, a direct to DVD Scrat short film. 

 Fin Teo

Industry: Visual Effects
Studio: Blizzard Entertainment

Fin is now working as the Cinematic Shading and Look Development Supervisor at Blizzard Entertainment. His job includes Supervising Renderman Shading and Look Development team on World of Warcarft, StarCraft and Diablo cinematic. Before this, he was the Senior Lead Artist in Digital Domain USA for 5 years, leading and supervising the texture and look development teams. He was also responsible in building the studio's pipeline for the Texture Department. His rich visual effects production experience in feature films, including blockbusters such as The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Flags of Our Fathers, Aeon Flux, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Stealth, I Robot etc. Prior to joining Digital Domain, he was working for Electronic Arts Redwood Shores and his responsibility included games development for game titles such as Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2003, James Bond 007 etc. He has also taken up the role as a Computer Art Master Program direct studies advisor for the Academy of Art San Francisco.

 Dominic Quek

Dominic Quek is currently appointed as the Senior Cinematic Artist at Blizzard Entertainment, an American computer games studio. He started his CG career in Singapore, working in post-production and games, before moving on to the Netherlands to work for Guerilla Games and subsequently, to Blizzard Entertainment in California USA.
