Description
This is a 2 year full time diploma course. In the 1st year of the WSQ Diploma in Animation, the program focuses on helping trainees build their foundational core skills in their chosen area of specialization (Visual Effects, Animation or Modeling/Texturing). The 2nd year focuses on helping trainees gain production experience, brushing up on production speed and quality. During the second year, trainees will be attached to CG Protege and specific projects will be assigned to students to simulate a real working environment. Meeting industrial work speed/rates is the focus of our training. This is to ensure trainees can produce quality work as well as work fast enough to meet the industrial needs. (During the attachment in School, no stipend will be provided)
Apprenticeship Training
CG Protege students who has reached production-ready standard after the 1st year, will have an opportunity to go through an interview with CG companies. Students selected by companies will be attached to them rather than to CG Protege. If trainees are attached to a company, trainees will be offered a monthly salary of $1700 with CPF.
As $1700 is an apprentice's pay (not an intern's pay), trainees will need to have basic specialised production skills and ability, in order for the company to put them in the frontline as an apprentice. CG Protege will be selective towards the chosen animation & visual effects companies as our students' wellbeing is of utmost importance to us. CG Protege will do our best to ensure the apprenticeship has value towards their career. For students who are attached to animation or visual effects companies, CG Protege will continue to upgrade their skills based on the host company's feedback via night-classes at CG Protege, during the apprenticeship period. Our trainers will work with their employers to create structured training to match their specific needs. So far, the companies we are partnering with have responded positively to our tailored training plans.
