Introduction to Character Rigging (Bipedal)

Duration :  (30 hrs)

Fees At Subsidized Rate:  S$306 (Inclusive of GST)

Entry Requirements:  Basic 3DS MAX knowledge, little or no rigging/technical knowledge required.

Course Outline:  This course covers the basic fundamental of character rigging in a 3D environment. Participants will be guided with topics starting with the basic knowledge of bones and mechanics and how to conceptualize the art-form of rigging. They will learn to find and use the things they require, and how to integrate them together to form the basics of a character setup. Participants will be able to rig a basic character setup at the end of the course.

Basic Rotoscoping

Duration :  (30 hrs)

Fees At Subsidized Rate:  S$306 (Inclusive of GST)

Entry Requirements: Basic knowledge in using compositing sofware such as After Effects

Course Outline: Participant will learn to key out characters from green screen videos and video images. Rotoscope plays a large role in the vfx industry as often the characters are needed to be matte out from video images and composite into different environments. Rotoscope can also be used to aid in the creating of visual effect(such as glow) by means of matte or rotoscoped line. An example will be the original 3 Stars Wars movie where the lightsabers were created using rotoscope technique. The course will introduce compositing software After Effects where participants will learn to create and animate mask, different color keying techniques and basic compositing.

Basic VFX

Fees At Subsidized Rate:  S$408 (Inclusive of GST)

Entry Requirements: Basic knowledge in 3D software interface. Knowledge in 3D Studio max is a plus.

Course Outline: Participant will learn how to create basic visual effects in 3D Studio max using max legacy particle system. Learn how to add natural forces(such as gravity, wind,etc..) and run dynamics system to make your effects look realistic. Create shaders, glow effects and learn how to apply them to your particles system and geometry. Animate them and your particles system to make the effects look interesting.

High-Res 3D-Digital Sculpting

Duration :  (40 hrs)  (Twice a week)
