CG Protege believes in exposing our students and graduates to established animation and visual effects industry professionals through informative sharing sessions is essential for their career development in the CG industry. Due to CG Protege's extensive network, we are able host and conduct a number of industry talks from CG professionals of top studios both locally and internationally - (Lucasfilm, blueSky, Ubisoft, Double Negative etc.), on a regular basis for our students and graduates benefit.

Melvin is a graduate of the Academy of Art University at San Francisco and is currently working as an Animator at BlueSky Studios, the animation studio behind the blockbuster Ice Age and is one of CG Protege's Panel of Industry Advisors. Melvin has been appointed as the Character Lead for some characters in Horton Hears A Who and the ongoing production Ice Age 3. His film credits also include Ice Age: The Meltdown, Robots and No Time for Nuts, a direct to DVD Scrat short film.

Chris Burn, Head of 2D and Vic Rodgers, HR Manager from Double Negative Visual Effects London, shared with our students the details of the EDB / Double Negative STRAT program. Also, Eugenie von Tunzleman described how Double Negative developed a new fluid simulation system for Hellboy II's pyrokinetic character Liz, resulting in fast, highly detailed fire simulations and renders, whilst Kath Roberts and Graham Jack outlined some of the pipeline tricks and tools used to enable Double Negative to render the horde of 3 metre tall clockwork golden robots in Hellboy II

Olivier de Rotalier, Managing Director of Ubisoft Singapore, was here to share with our students the job requirements of Ubisoft and the kind of talents the company will be looking for.

Tad Leckman, previously Director of Training, Lucasfilm Animation Singapore was here to share with our students the requirements for entry into the Jedi Master Program. He also shared with our students the kind of skill sets the industry is looking for. He actually conducted 2 separate industry talks at CG Protege premises on separate occasions. He is currently now Academic Director of Escape Studios LA Academy

Julian is currently the lead modeller at Ubisoft Singapore, and has also been a lead modeller at Zealot, Koei and EBrilliant. Over the years, he has been sent to both Tokyo and Paris for training. Julian was very kind to share with our students his personal experience of how he continued to develop his skills over his years in the industry. He also gave insight into what are the skills our students need to showcase when preparing their reels

Lai Swee Kim is a veteran in the CG industry for the last 10 years. He has worked with some of the major studios like Framestore, MPC, Animal Logic. And now he is back home working in Lucasfilm Singapore. His film credits includes Guardian of Ga'Hoole,Angels & Demons, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, Batman - The Dark Knight, James Bond - Quantum of Solace etc.

Marc has been in the computer graphics industry for more than 10 years. He is currently the lead modeller of Real U and previously he was also the lead modeller from various leading CG companies in Singapore. We were very fortunate to be able to invite him to share with our students his experience in the Computer Games industry
