Hans Bacher Masterclass Hans Bacher has been working in the animation film business for the last 30 years. First in Germany in his own studio, later on major Disney movies like who framed roger rabbit, beauty and the beast, lion king, aladdin, hercules, fantasia 2000 and mulan, as well as spielberg's balto. He has won several awards for his design work, amongst them the annie-award for mulan. Born in Germany he spent many years in London, Paris, Duesseldorf and Los Angeles. Now he lives in Manila and enjoys the islands and traveling through the far east. He was teaching animation in Germany for 15 years, during the last years he is giving lectures and workshops about film-design in major studios and universities in Japan, Taiwan, China, Singapore and the Philippines. So far he has published 2 books - 'brush-design for photoshop' and 'DREAM WORLDS, production design in animation'. http://one1more2time3.wordpress.com/ |

Gobelins Character Animation MasterclassAnimators from PIXAR and Animation Mentor (Previous ex students of Gobelins) and an experienced Acting Lecturer from Gobelins were flown in to conduct this special class for our students. Lecturers for this special masterclass include: Michelle Meeker - Animation Mentor (extreme left in picture) Graduating in 1996 from California Institute of the Arts, California, with a MFA in Character Animation, Michelle Meeker joined the crew at Pixar Animation Studios, USA, where she animated on Geris Game and A Bugs Life; then moved on to PDI/Dreamworks, USA, as lead animator on Shrek and Antz and then on to Weta Digital in New Zealand to work on Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers and Lord of the Rings: Return of the King. After returning to the US, Michelle did some freelance work for a while, before taking a job as Senior Animator/Lead Cinematics Animator at Stormfront Studios in San Rafael, and then in 2005 she became a full-time instructor on Animation Mentor; a position she still holds while teaching at various animation schools around the world including Animation Workshop in Viborg, Denmark, and GOBELINS, lécole de limage in Paris, France.

Robert Bennett first taught at GOBELINS, l’école de l’image in 1994, collaborating on an exercise of « Performance walk cycle ». Since then, he has worked around Europe and in the USA presenting a course in « Corporeal Acting » for different animation schools and studios, including Walt Disney Feature Film France, Warner Brothers Feature Film USA and A-Studio in Copenhagen. He has also given classes for Richard Williams’ Workshop. His master class focuses on acting for animators, using body language to express emotions and move the story forward |

CG Protege & Double Negative Industry Placement ProgramThis is the program where both CG Protege and Double Negative staff co train and prepare a pool of talents to work for Double Negative feature film projects. Our lecturers are attached to Double Negative for 4 days of training. This is to ensure what we are training is close to what Double Negative requires when the student graduates. |
